New Moschino Perfume
Earlier this year, on Instagram, Moschino revealed their newest fragrance….. Moschino Toy 2 Bubble Gum. The posts were from the campaign shoot featuring New Zealand model Stella Maxwell clad in a silver astronaut suit that was embellished with teddy bear zips and patches. She also appears in the current season’s yellow and pink polka dot swimsuit floating on a GIANT bottle of the new fragrance, space to beach………… why the hell not? The overall theme of the campaign seems to be set in the 1960s with Maxwell sporting a tousled hairstyle from the same era as well as the vintage-inspired space suit.
When I saw the posts my heart skipped a beat, LITERALLY! The pink teddy bear bottle sparked my interest as the two previous fragrances did when I first saw them. The smell of Toy 2 and Toy Boy are both amazing and I couldn’t wait to sample this new one! I would check online every other day during lockdown waiting for moschino.com to stock the scent but there was no sign of it. I had almost forgotten about it until I left work and noticed the pink bottle in the window of The Perfume Shop at the MetroCentre. I joined the queue and eagerly waited to be allowed in. When I first smelled the fragrance I was unsure whether I liked it or not. The sales assistant patiently waited for my reaction so I smelled it again. It’s so close to being disgustingly sweet, yet the first hit is such a dream and grew on me the more I sprayed it. It does die down pretty quickly and I think it smells a tiny bit like Moschino Fresh Pink. The scent is described as a fruity floral tone which includes notes of candied citrus, blueberries, cinnamon, bubble gum accord and Italian orange. The mix of notes may put a lot of people off, I personally HATE the artificial smell of bubble gum flavoured things-but with this perfume it all works well together! To top off the incredible scent, the bottle for it is the signature glass teddy bear with a frosted bottom half and a plastic teddy head lid with silver branding. The shade of pink used for the box couldn’t be any more perfect and help get the theming across. Since I made the impromptu purchase I have worn it EVERY day I have had to leave the house. Needless to say, it soon became my fave fragrance so I thought I’d celebrate the fact by writing a blog about it. Now I do love all of the Moschino fragrances which have been released under the creative eye of Jeremy Scott; Toy, Fresh, Fresh Pink, Fresh Gold, Toy 2, Toy Boy and now Toy 2 Bubble Gum.
The colour of the bottle is this beautiful shade of pink……… a bubble gum pink I’d say, so I took this as the starting point for the look for this blog. This shacket I found on BoohooMan and it was only £26. Boohoo always have their products heavily discounted AND they offer a premier delivery subscription so it will always be towards the top of the list of websites I’d go to first, behind ASOS of course. The pink of this shacket couldn’t be any more perfect, it is bright, vibrant and GORGEOUS! The jeans actually belong to my beautiful boyfriend, I tend to have an issue with buying and wearing coloured bottom options but these jeans are a HUGE wardrobe regret, I wish I had got some too! Luckily for me, I can just slyly pinch them whenever I want. I had no idea they were the same fit as my all-time FAVE ASOS jeans; high waisted, slim leg, slightly cropped, but now knowing that the regret hits harder LOL. This t-shirt was a steal from my local H&M for only £3.99. It has small shoulder pads (which I am living for) and its sleeveless. The shoulder pads give you an amazingly sharp-looking silhouette. I usually find NASA licensed t-shirts a little boring but this one packs a little more of a punch with the pastel colouring, fun print and TEENY TINY price tag haha. I also picked up this fanny pack from my local H&M for £12.99 and was drawn to the bright colour and shellsuit fabric; I couldn’t leave without it. The boots have been sat in my wardrobe for a LOOOOONG time since I purchased them from ASOS back in the early days of lockdown 3.0. They are a VERY snug fit but I couldn’t let these Bottega dupes slip past me as they would have been swiftly added to my ever-growing regret list LOL. I love the chunky soles and fitted fit around the ankle which means they can easily be worn with a more tapered or skinny fit trouser. The necklace is a well-used beaut that you’ll have seen many a time in my blogs, it’s from Moschino’s 2020 Autumn/Winter collection and what is a Moschino fragrance inspired outfit without something Moschino huh?
