BLOG Logo
Welcome to Van Cartier BLOG!!! This is a little introduction to a few things that inspire me and to what you might expect to see on Van Cartier BLOG.
For the Van Cartier BLOG logo I decided to use a few bright and bold images from some of my favourite brands, and designers that have inspired me over the years. As you can see there is a trend with the brand that has made an appearence more then once in the logo, Moschino! Fashion should be something you can have fun with on a daily basis and this really comes accross in Jeremy Scott’s work for Moschino. The first collection Scott did for Moschino, Autumn/Winter 2014, was one of my all time favourite collections, like EVER! It included McDonalds inspired uniforms and Spongebob Squarepants’ face plastered on belts, coats and scarves; so this naturally had to appear on the logo.
He might not be the most current influencer, and a quote from him might seem a bit random, but I love and live my life to this quote from genius and king of bad taste Laurence Llewelyn Bowen.
I also have a love of neon signs and some of the best are found in Las Vegas (in my opinion) and the iconic sign for the Glitter Gulch, the kicking, pin-up style cowgirl is definitely the best! Las Vegas holds a special place in my heart as it is MECCA for the tacky, over the top and bad taste………. Everything I love. This picture was taken waaaaaaay back in 2012 on my first visit to Vegas.
I also included a picture of one of the Darkroom London cushion’s I have (and am very protective over) This collection was based on Memphis Group and named after it’s founder Ettore Sottsass. Memphis group embodied the 1980s with its take on Postmodern homewares. It was colourful, bold and used mixed materials which can easily be brought over into your wardrobe.
