SpongeBob Bags
Way back in 2013, Jeremy Scott showed his first collection as leader of Moschino. This collection was the ultimate mecca for someone as obsessed with all kinds of popular culture as me. McDonald’s, fast food, excessive gold metal lettering and jewellery and who can forget SpongeBob! I literally couldn’t ask for any more at the time! The show had everything I needed in my life, glamour and fun!!!! The only downside was that I was saving for a holiday to Los Angeles and Las Vegas so I couldn’t spend all the money I wanted to while I was ATTEMPTING (being the keyword LOL) to save for spending money. I was lucky enough to bag the SpongeBob wallet in early 2015 along with the McDonald’s backpack……… in the sale obviously.
Ever since I had to let the opportunity of owning all the SpongeBob bits I could ever want slip by me I would be forever checking the pre-loved sites searching for bits from the collection. Vestiaire Collective, in my eyes, is the best site and app to find said pieces. Last September I was able to find the round cross-body bag for £130 and what was even better was that it was located in the UK…………… No delivery fee and NOOOOOOOO import charges. Around the same time, I found the SpongeBob backpack located in Italy but sadly on sale for £445. I still decided to watch it anyway. Much to my surprise the price of the bag would get and lower each month. I couldn’t actually believe no one was snapping this treasure up in a heartbeat! The price eventually went down to £158 and I knew I had to grab this bag before some other lucky devil got it. I had a promo code for 10% off all orders, which made the purchase even sweeter. I made the purchase and couldn’t have asked for a better price…….. £180 including delivery and import charges. WINNER WINNER!
Obviously, I was incredibly excited to ACTUALLY receive the backpack but knew it took a week or so to come. I do not have the patients of a saint, unfortunately so the time it took killed me LOL! Vestiaire Collective is an amazing way of buying preloved items IF you follow the right route of having the item checked over by Vestiaire. I stupidly skipped this part because I was so keen on getting the bag but I have learnt my lesson from doing this. One of the straps of the backpack is showing way more wear and tear than was listed in the description and there was no picture of the damaged strap instead it had been carefully hidden in the picture. I missed the deadline of 72 hours you have to report any issues. As soon as I opened the parcel I did notice the strap but then was sat thinking ‘what could they actually do?’ I wanted the bag and would have never sent it back to the seller. I can certainly live with the condition of the bag but I will not be doing that again haha.
Another classic piece ticked off my Moschino-must-haves need list…………. Just the other 4000 pieces to go LOL!
